Putting aside that basically everyone is disrespectful to Obama these days, including many in his own party - and perhaps even his children on the occasional turkey of a state occasion during which they share the stage - it would appear that Landrieu's 'Hail Mary,' if you will is to try and turn out as much as the black vote as possibly on December 6th.
"You've heard a lot about that 97 percent. That's the only thing that our opponent can say is that 97 percent," said Landrieu, referring the charges from Cassidy and Republicans that she has overwhelmingly voted to support the president's agenda. "The only other thing he can do is be disrespectful to the president of the United States."
The sad truth is Landrieu is using code words to suggest Cassidy is racist. And let us not forget how much respect Democrats such as Mary Landrieu showed former President Bush when he was in office. That's just how long a straw soon to go down in a typhoon Mary is reaching for here.
Asked by The Washington Post afterward what she meant specifically by "disrespectful," Landrieu responded: "He refers to him by his last name. Constantly."
She added: "If you are going to refer to the president of the United States, he's at least earned the title that the people gave him when they elected him."
