5 Things: Rascal Flats/Band Perry Tickets on Sale Today Patch Mansfield, MA --

*1. Today's Weather From the National Weather Service*

· Today: A chance of sprinkles after 5pm. Increasing clouds, with a high near 42. West wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
· Tonight: A chance of sprinkles and flurries before 8pm, then a chance of flurries between 8pm and 10pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 26. West wind around 8 mph.

 

*2. Comcast Center Tickets on Sale*

Tickets for Rascal Flats and the Band Perry at the Comcast Center on June 14 go on sale today at 10 a.m. Tickets range from $43.60 for lawn seats to $82.35 for covered reserved seating. Tickets can be purchased though Live Nation or at the Comcast Center.

 

*3. Mulan Jr. at the Qualters Middle School*

Tickets are now available for The Un-Common Young Performers' Production of DISNEY'S MULAN JR.  This staged adaptation of the favorite movie will be presented on Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Qualters Middle School in Mansfield.

Travel back to the legendary, story-telling days of ancient China with this action-packed stage adaptation of Disney's Mulan.  The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick Mushu to save the Emperor!  DISNEY'S MULAN JR. is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor and a fighting spirit.  The score includes favorites like "Reflection,""Honor to Us All" and "I'll Make a Man Out of You" as well as new songs that will get you up on your feet!  

The young cast of talented first through sixth graders is guided by Director and Mansfield High School Senior Alex Fullerton.  Choreography has been created by Coyle and Cassidy High School Junior Katie Armstrong with Music Direction by Linda Barbieri.

This presentation of Disney's Mulan, Jr. offers parents and grandparents a wonderful age-appropriate venue to expose children to the live theatre experience. This show is guaranteed to appeal to kids of all ages and allows the audience to enjoy theatre for kids by kids. Join us in encouraging the appreciation of the arts in a whole new generation!

*4. Volunteers Needed for Great American Cleanup of Mansfield*

Keep Mansfield Beautiful is now looking for volunteers to take part in the Great American Cleanup of Mansfield on April 27 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

After the cleanup, volunteers are invited to a special picnic at the Comcast Center. To sign up, click here.

 

*5. Mansfield Resident's Work to be Featured at Local Quilt Show*

The Rhododendron Needlers Quilt Guild will be holding their biennial Quilt Show, Traditions and Treasures, Saturday, March 16 (10-5), and Sunday, March 17 (10-4), at the Blue Hills Regional Technical High School in Canton, MA.

Local quilter and resident of Mansfield; Mary Ann Zonenshine will have quilts on display at the show.   She among 50 fellow guild members from 30 different towns south and west of Boston exhibiting some 150 quilts at the show.   Many of these quilters have produced prize winning works and have had their quilts exhibited in Regional, National and International shows.   

Mary Ann is a professional quilter, and part owner of ‘Mad About Quilt’ on route 106 in Manfield.   She has been quilting for over 20 years and has been a member of the guild for 6 years.   She has displayed her works at several local and regional quilt shows.  A talented quilter who has won several awards and ribbons for her work.
