*Boys Volleyball undefeated in the BSC*
During a week when Needham Varsity teams went 16-7, the Rockets saw four teams come away with no loses, five teams only lose once, and only one team lose two contests.
Boys Volleyball kept their hot streak going, sweeping all BSC teams during the week, taking down Braintree, Framingham and Brookline. At 12-2 (11-0 BSC), the 4th ranked Rockets have already qualified for the State Tournament and will look to take one step closer to the BSC title against Weymouth and Wellesley this week.
*Softball wins 4 out of 6*
Softball also had a strong week, dropping a thrilling 1-run game to Walpole under the lights at Claxton Field on Monday. The girls bounced back to shut out Brookline and Milton to move to 6-6 on the season (winning 4 out of last 6 games). It has been years since the Softball team has qualified for the postseason, and by either winning 4 of their remaining 8 games or by finishing second in the BSC Carey Division, the Rockets will have a chance to play past Memorial Day weekend!
*Girls Lacrosse takes 3 & gears up for battle with State #1!*
Girls Lacrosse used two great halves, one vs Walpole and one vs Andover, to cost to victories over the two strong programs, and also beat Weymouth on Thursday. The Girls will travel to State #1 Westwood on Monday for a 5:30pm clash. Last spring the Rockets beat Westwood in the regular season only to drop a close one to the Wolverines in the South Section Finals. Boys Lacrosse beat Walpole and Weymouth before falling to a tough St. John's Prep team on the road on Saturday.
*Tennis Looks to Ride Momentum*
Girls Tennis picked it up on the week, with victories over Natick, Braintree and Notre Dame Academy (Hingham). Boys Tennis also defeated Natick and Braintree, but feel to state power St. John's HS Shrewsbury. Rugby stayed undefeated on the year with a big win over Catholic Memorial and will look to ride the momentum into the State Championships in their final two regular season games against Marshfield and Scituate.
*Baseball Drops Heartbreaker*
Although Baseball fell to top-5 Walpole and dropped a heartbreaker in 13 innings, 7-6, to Milton on Friday, they will look to rebound against Framingham, Coyle & Cassidy, and Norwood (Wed, 7pm at Balch Field in Norwood), before traveling to Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall Fame this weekend (Sat, 1:30pm) to take on Brookline for the 17th time at Double Day Field!
The Track teams fell to Weymouth during the week but then saw some great performances in two invitationals on Saturday.
